But before you take the step to the new operating system, the question arises: <strong>Is my PC ready to upgrade to Windows 11?<\/strong> Find out how you can find out whether your device meets the minimum requirements and how you can best prepare for the upgrade.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why should you upgrade to Windows 11?<\/strong><br \/>\nBefore we look at the technical requirements, it is important to know why switching to Windows 11 can make sense. Windows 11 offers numerous advantages such as a <strong>modernized user interface<\/strong>, <strong>better performance<\/strong>, <strong>enhanced security features<\/strong> and <strong>optimized gaming features<\/strong>. But not every PC is able to support these new features without problems. This is where the <strong>system requirements<\/strong> come into play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The minimum requirements for Windows 11<\/strong><br \/>\nMicrosoft has set clear <strong>minimum requirements<\/strong> that a PC must meet in order to install Windows 11. Here are the key points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Processor:<\/strong> 1 GHz or faster, with at least two cores, and from the <strong>list of supported processors<\/strong> (e.g. 8th Generation Intel Core or higher, AMD Ryzen 2000 series or higher).<\/li>\n<li><strong>RAM:<\/strong> At least <strong>4 GB<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Storage:<\/strong> <strong>64 GB<\/strong> or more free hard disk space.<\/li>\n<li><strong>System firmware:<\/strong> <strong>UEFI<\/strong> (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) with <strong>Secure Boot<\/strong> support.<\/li>\n<li><strong>TPM (Trusted Platform Module):<\/strong> version <strong>2.0<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Graphics card:<\/strong> DirectX 12 compatible graphics card or a WDDM 2.0 compatible driver version.<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Display:<\/strong> Screen with a resolution of at least <strong>720p<\/strong>, larger than 9 inches diagonally, and 8 bits per color channel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to check if your PC meets the requirements<\/strong><br \/>\nThe <strong>PC Health Check<\/strong> is an official tool from Microsoft that makes it easy to find out if your PC is ready for Windows 11. You can download the tool from the Microsoft website (<a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/GetPCHealthCheckApp\">https:\/\/aka.ms\/GetPCHealthCheckApp<\/a>) and run it. It will automatically check if your device meets the above requirements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alternatively, you can open the <strong>Control Panel<\/strong> and right-click on &#8220;This PC&#8221; to view the <strong>Properties<\/strong>. Here you can find some basic information about your processor, RAM and storage. However, for other requirements like TPM 2.0 and UEFI, you may need to go into your PC&#8217;s BIOS\/UEFI and look.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Special requirements: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot<\/strong><br \/>\nA key point in Windows 11 requirements is <strong>TPM 2.0<\/strong> technology and <strong>Secure Boot<\/strong> support. Many older PCs may not support these features. TPM 2.0 is a security platform that ensures your PC is protected from unauthorized access.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>How do you check if TPM 2.0 is enabled on your PC?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Press <strong>Windows Key + R<\/strong>, type &#8220;<strong>tpm.msc<\/strong>&#8221; and press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>In the TPM Management Tool, you will see the version of your TPM.
